Who We Are
ChoiceBook is an initiative led by a group of medical, legal, and communications professionals devoted to raising public awareness of the complexities of human reproduction and the right of each American to exercise reproductive freedoms.
The idea was originally hatched by staff members of a 28-year-old healthcare digital marketing and patient education firm and was quickly joined by a number of physician clients and other communications professionals.
Our Mission
To collect and disseminate personal stories and expert insights and information about the challenges and choices for pregnancy, family building, and fertility challenges and disappointments.
Building a Network
We confess to big ambitions. Over the years of working in healthcare day in and day out, we’ve witnessed the uniquely powerful force of storytelling. As Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. “But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
No topic evokes greater emotional responses than abortion and reproductive freedom. We respect – no, we hold in highest reverence – the First Amendment freedoms of religion and speech. Anyone is free to believe that life begins at conception in compliance with her religious and personal convictions.
Yet doctors, scientists, legal experts, and philosophers have never reached such a consensus. For too long, the debate over abortion has focused laser-like on a question that humans will never agree on.
Therefore, our objective is simply to approach the thorniest and most divisive questions and issues around human reproduction from an informed point of view. We strive to assemble a collection of authorities and veterans eager to present real-life, experience-and-education-based facts and histories of reproduction to the public at large.
In this pursuit, we hope you will contribute in some way, even if it’s merely to become a regular visitor to this website.
